A flying visit back to Christchurch resulted in me buying this very tidy Toyota Corona ............previous owners include one lady for 20years and one 82 year old gentlemen. The old guy that sold it to me (Maurice) took me for a 100Km test drive (imagine doing that in the UK!!! ) and even said I could try it out for the weekend. Then he called me a couple of days later to ask me how I was getting on.
So now its down to the local Pak'nSave to load it up with all the crap that I couldn't possibly have got in a backpack and will probably never actually use ;-). Then its up to Arthur's pass, which is a national park in the centre of the South Island

this is the third attempt at sending my e.mail. glad to hear you are having such a great time and making lots of new friends. its freezing here and also in italy. we are looking forward to our break with Guily going to Milan and ski-ing apartment in foothills of alps to see chiara and new baby.we had a great meal out with pete,helen,marg.,john and joe last saturday and they were all asking about your trip. you seem to have made a good buy with the car. its great thatg we can keep up with your travels, the photos are great. Pete said you can buy the sd cards much cheaper at Tesco. I have just arranged sky tv for granda so that should keep him happy. Zoe has found a house they like but wasnot happy when i said i didnot like it, however its their choice.
